The Kelly Family Band crosses all borders, no matter what your age, religion or culture, this band will win your heart forever. A rare delight, the Kelly Family band play Australian folk music flavoured with Celtic and American styles with surprising skill, and totally infectious joyous abandon. Family bands are one of life’s super special creations and the Kelly’s are such an organism. Three kids and two adults all with happy demeanours make their Celtic driven sound with joy, love, tensions and all the ups and downs that come with family life. The youngest is 13 years old and Rory plays the bodhran, saxophone and drums with such energy that he often burns himself out and has to leave the stage half way through the show for a breather. Mocara (Irish for my friend) is 14 years old and a keen dancer, fiddler, and drummer, and is the mischievous one while Sofia at 17 is the more experienced and fiery fiddler of the children. Mum (Kristin), and Dad (Alan) are founding members of the Irish band the Barleyshakes and consider this time of the family life to be pure gold. The Kelly Family Band are a joy to behold and their music is infectious, upbeat perfect for all the family. They have performed in Prague, Liepzig, Berlin, Poland, Paris, Alsace, Milan, Provence, and Ireland , as well as all over Australia and New Zealand! In 2016 they have toured Europe, and performed in at the the biggest Celtic festival in the world.
