From the experimental music scene in New York to early music with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra guitarist and composer Anthony Garcia is a unique presence in the Australian guitar scene. With a passion for improvisation and a masterful classical technique Garcia fuses together a wide range of styles from the ancient to the contemporary from Latin folk to exploratory jazz, pulsating world rhythms and experimental soundscapes. Performing throughout Australia, Mexico, Japan and the United States both as a soloist and in collaboration with virtuoso artists from across many musical traditions Anthony's engaging presence transports his audiences through an ever evolving musical landscape.
This folky-classical chamber band is classically trained vocal duo Beth McBride and Katie Rutledge with pedigree musicians Leo McFadden (classical/jazz guitar) and Dave Spicer (keys). With their simply beautiful vocal blend, luscious harmonies, and refreshing modern arrangements, Essence Ensemble is creating a new musical space somewhere between classical, folk and new music. Their soulful acoustic sounds create intimate concerts that are truly inspiring, delightful and relaxing.
Based in New York, this duo pairs Australian guitarist Rupert Boyd with American cellist Laura Metcalf for an exciting musical experience. Inspired by the breadth of stylistic possibilities their instrumentation provides, the duo will perform Schubert's powerful "Arpeggione" Sonata, Manuel de Falla's flamenco-inspired Seven Popular Spanish Songs, Arvo Part's beautifully meditative "Spiegel im Spiegel" and other works by composers from South America, Europe and Australia.
