People’s Orchestra

Community music making with renowned musician and composer Andrew Veivers

People’s Orchestra is a large-scale, community music project that brings professional artists and local musicians together in a shared live performance.

Led by musician and composer Andrew Veivers, the project invites players of all levels and instruments to take part in a collaboratively created work, culminating in a bold and memorable public performance. It’s a flexible model that can be shaped to suit your event, community and setting, whether as a standalone outcome or part of a larger festival program.

Developed over many years and presented in partnership with festivals and events across Australia, The People’s Orchestra is designed to work at scale while remaining inclusive and accessible. Red Chair works closely with presenters to tailor each project, from instrumentation and rehearsal structure through to performance outcomes, ensuring a strong artistic result alongside meaningful community participation.

If you’re interested in creating a large-scale participatory music experience in your region, we’d love to start a conversation.
