The Acoustic Guitar Spectacular returns in 2026, bringing three outstanding Australian guitarists together for one night of exceptional acoustic music. Hosted by internationally recognised guitarist Michael Fix, the concert highlights the skill, precision and creativity that have made this series a favourite with Queensland audiences.

Joining him are Jason McGregor and Craig Claxton, two highly respected musicians with distinct styles. McGregor is a national fingerstyle champion known for his versatile musicianship and soulful vocal work. His performances have taken him across Australia and internationally, earning industry awards and a strong following. Claxton brings over 50 years of experience, shaped by blues, rock and jazz influences. He has performed with a long list of celebrated Australian artists and remains a sought-after guitarist, educator and session player.

Together, Fix, McGregor and Claxton present a diverse program that spans multiple styles and influences. The 2026 Acoustic Guitar Spectacular offers audiences a rare opportunity to experience three accomplished players share the stage, each bringing their own voice and musical history to this much-loved annual event.

About the Artists

Michael Fix
Michael Fix is a highly respected Australian guitarist and composer known for his stunning fingerstyle guitar playing and captivating compositions. With a career spanning over three decades, Fix has released numerous albums, won multiple awards, (including three CMAA Golden Guitar Awards), and toured extensively throughout Australia and the world. His music draws from a wide range of musical influences, including classical, jazz, blues, and world music, and often incorporates percussive techniques and intricate fingerpicking patterns. Michael Fix is a masterful guitarist and talented composer whose music has captivated and inspired audiences right around the world.

Jason McGregor
Jason McGregor is an accomplished guitarist and musician, celebrated for his exceptional fingerstyle technique and soulful pop sensibility. A one-time National Fingerstyle Guitar Champion, his artistry has taken him across the country and around the globe as a touring artist and sideman. Jason’s technical precision and dynamic musicality have made him a sought-after collaborator, leading to performances and work alongside diverse acts including Adam Brand, Lee Kernaghan, Tania Doko, Paulini, The Veronicas, and Broadway vocalist Shoshana Bean (USA).

Craig Claxton
Craig Claxton is an Australian-born guitarist, singer and songwriter with a career spanning over 50 years. He has played and recorded with artists as diverse as Robben Ford, Carol Lloyd, The Purple Hearts, Wendy Saddington, Chris Wilson and Ross Wilson. Since 1972, Craig has performed with numerous Australian bands and, in recent years, his own projects. As a solo artist, he has released two critically acclaimed albums, Azure Blue and Lies & Alibis.His lifelong love of the guitar led to the opening of Guitar Brothers in 2006, now regarded as one of Australia’s premier guitar stores and a destination for both international and local players.
