From beginners to seasoned players, everyone is welcome.
The Sunshine Coast Guitar Orchestra (SCGO) is a welcoming, community-based ensemble exploring music from around the world, spanning folk, classical, film, contemporary and more.
Led by local composer and guitarist Andrew Veivers, the orchestra brings together players of all levels and backgrounds. The orchestra is open to everyone, from beginners to advanced players of any age. Parts are thoughtfully arranged to suit the group, so whether you’re returning to your instrument or playing regularly, there’s a place for you.
Rehearsals are relaxed, collaborative and focused on the shared experience of making music together.
Getting There
The MET is located in the Maroochydore City Centre, with after-hours parking nearby and additional parking off Sunshine Coast Parade. Bus route 614 stops close to the venue.
The Place Activation Grant program is an initiative of the Maroochydore City Centre delivered in partnership between Walker Corporation, SunCentral and Sunshine Coast Council.

Andrew Veivers
Andrew Veivers is an Australian guitarist, composer and director known for his work across performance and community projects. Alongside his own projects, he has collaborated with organisations including the Sydney Theatre Company, Opera Queensland and the Woodford Folk Festival.

Is the venue accessible?
Most venues we work with offer basic accessibility features such as step-free entry, wheelchair access and accessible toilets, but facilities vary from place to place. Because Red Chair events tour to a wide range of regional halls, theatres and community spaces, not all venues have the same accessibility features, particularly smaller or heritage-listed buildings.
Before booking, we recommend checking the venue’s accessibility information on the ticketing website via the venue Book Now link to confirm what is available (for example wheelchair spaces, companion seating or ramps). This will help ensure the most comfortable experience for you and your guests.

Companion Card Tickets
Companion Card tickets are available for all Red Chair events. The Companion Card program supports people living with a disability who require attendant care to participate in community activities, ensuring they can bring a companion at no extra cost. Is food and drinks available?
It depends on the venue. Some offer a bar and food, while others allow you to bring your own nibbles and refreshments. Check the ticketing page via the venue Book Now link for venue-specific details.
Can I take photos or videos?
Yes, at most venues you’re welcome to take photos and videos during the concert. Flash is not permitted, and we ask that you’re mindful not to disturb your fellow audience members. If you share your snaps on social media, please tag us — Facebook @RedChairEvents and Instagram @redchairevents.

Is the seating reserved?
Seating is reserved at some venues. Check the ticketing page via the venue Book Now link to confirm. Where seating isn’t reserved, doors open 30 minutes before the advertised start time. We recommend arriving early if you have a preferred spot.
