In Transformations: Old Made New, Aaron Brown leads an extraordinary ensemble where centuries-old melodies find new life in contemporary sounds. Blending medieval mystery, Baroque elegance, the freedom of jazz, and the energy of world music, the performance bridges past and present.
Aaron Brown, a virtuoso of historical instruments and contemporary composition, is joined by Philip Griffin (guitar/oud), Tunji Beier (percussion), Sam Vincent (double bass), and Martin Kay (winds). Together they create music that is both grounded in tradition and alive with new possibilities.
The result is music that moves across centuries: medieval dances pulsing with jazz rhythms, ancient songs reimagined through improvisation, and echoes of tradition transformed into something daringly new.
