Join The Collectors to discover the hidden treasures of the Old Museum!

The Collectors are two sisters, Sprig and Magnolia, who have travelled from the village of LittleLeaf with their suitcase of special things. This tattered case is full of wondrous, whimsical and fantastic treasures…all of them carefully collected and rich with story. There’s a jar of aromatic red tea concocted from Adeline Eden’s herb garden; a hand-carved wooden box that keeps a secret; a tiny jar of golden honey lovingly collected from Harry B. Brown's bees; and an egg that's…well it’s…suspiciously like something a Gillywobbler would leave behind!

Incorporating crafted visual installations, whimsical costuming, props and an interactive presentation & workshop, children will experience various types of oral and written stories, rhyming verse, songs and an immersive narrative of exceptional quality.

The Collectors will be joined by a team of Brisbane’s finest children’s art facilitators from Reverse Garbage, Flipside CircusCreative Kids Brisbane and Little Green Thumbs who will create and make with the children throughout the day. Workshops include clay sculpture, wearable art including nature crown and sword crafting, gardening skills, juggling, plate spinning, hula hoop, poi, mini-tramp and acro.

Café selling tea / coffee onsite. Feel free to bring snacks/ picnic lunch.

Presented as part of Brisbane City Council's Lord Mayor's Children's Program. This event is produced by Red Chair.
