 st is a place-based arts activation centred on the stories of Coolum resid
 ents and visitors and their connection to the local area. The project is a
  new initiative of local performing arts company Red Chair and follows oth
 er successful community arts-based projects we have delivered throughout t
 he region over the last decade. The project concept has been developed in 
 collaboration with independent Coolum based composer/director/musician And
 rew Veivers.There are several stages to the project\;\nThe Collection – lo
 cal artists (The Collectors) are collecting the songs (and associated stor
 ies) that local residents/visitors most relate to their “Coolum” experienc
 e - a favourite piece of music that connects them to place.\nThe Playlist 
 – from the Collection\, a playlist will be created and shared through vari
 ous public formats. The playlist will be regularly updated as new songs an
 d stories are collected.\nThe Performance – a selection of songs and stori
 es from The Playlist will be included in a live performance at Coolum Civi
 c Centre on Saturday 27 August as part of this year’s Horizon Festival.\nC
