Deeply rhythmical, harmonically adventurous, and unashamedly lyrical, “…An Australian with a flamenco soul…” (Olivia Stewart, Courier Mail) Andrew has developed a very personal and clearly identifiable playing and compositional style. His passion for both the classical and flamenco worlds of music, song, and dance have resulted in music that ".. creates that beautiful syncopated Spanish rhythm and pace.." (Whitney Fitzsimmons, Stage Whispers). With compositions that stylistically draw inspiration from greats as diverse as Manolo Sanlucar, Steve Reich, and Leo Kottke while retaining a clearly individual lilt “…Veivers’ composition is exquisite, desolate stuff…” (Darryn King, TIME OUT).

Based in Coolum Beach on Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi land for the past eighteen years Andrew has enjoyed a long career as a touring concert artist. At venues ranging from Blenheim Palace (UK) to The Dillington Classical Guitar Festival (UK) to chamber music series' in The Netherlands, concerts in Japan, the South Pacific as well as at many venues and festivals throughout Australia, Andrew has appeared as a soloist, with his groups Flamenco Fire and The Saruzu Quartet as well as guest director/composer/arranger/performer and producer for great Australian artistic institutions such as The Sydney Theatre Company, Opera Queensland and the Woodford Folk Festival to great critical acclaim.

One of Australia’s finest Spanish Guitarists “…This guy can really play....Andrew Veivers must eat gypsy hearts for breakfast…”  (Lulo Reinhardt), Andrew draws on a wide range of musical influences to evoke the sensual and mesmerising sounds of the Spanish guitar in all of its guises.
