Summer Silhouette Sculptures

Summer Silhouette Sculptures

January 01, 2020 - January 31, 2020

To make the most of the magical dawn and dusk times to feel and see the enduring presence of Mt Barney, Mt Barney Lodge has created a new on-site event called Summer Silhouette Sculptures.

This walking trail of uplit outdoor works of art at various scenic points on the property is exclusively on in January 2020.

Mt Barney (Queensland’s most impressive peak!) is the perfect backdrop to frame a variety of outdoor sculptures and ephemeral/eco installations created by esteemed Scenic Rim and other artists who have a connection to the Lodge including:

  • Sally Hart - woven installations
  • Christopher Trotter - upcycled farm machinery and items
  • Colleen Laveder - lasercut steel
  • Antone Bruinsma - sandstone
  • Alicia Lane - Copper
  • and many more

Guests are invited to explore the property, especially in the late afternoon when the sculptures are best experienced and photographed with against the silhouette of Mt Barney and the sunset colours, and taking time to watch the embedded lighting come to life against the darkening evening sky.

Time your visit over the Australia Day long weekend, and relax to acoustic music at one of the sculpture locations, and local food and refreshments.

Entry Charge - free for accommodated guests, $15 for day visitors 8am-6pm each day
