The View From Madeleine's Couch On Tour

April 21, 2019 - May 11, 2019
Categories: World, Jazz

For 21 years, The View From Madeleine's Couch has forged a glorious and lush sonic path through Brazilian jazz and bossa nova. Vocalist and percussionst Anje West has long been Australia's "queen of Brazilian song", and her musical and life partner, Kym Ambrose, is one of the finest vibraphone players in the country. Together with their band of exceptional musicians, they take audiences on an exotic journey through some of the most beautiful and well-known songs to come from Brazil, including Quiet Nights of Quiet Stars, Garota de Ipanema and Summer Samba.

The band has performed at some of the biggest jazz and world music festivals in Australia, and in the shows leading up to the recording of the band's third album, audiences not only get a preview of some of the album's songs, but will see the band joined by one of the world's finest drummers, Brazilian artist Marcio Bahia. Don't miss this wonderful collaboration between Australia's most unique Brazilian ensemble, and a true legend of Brazilian music!
